How can Pep Guardiola improve his team?

Post by Jordan Toplen

There is a common maxim in football that you don’t fix what’s not broken, and this might just be the case for Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola. The mercurial Spanish manager has been in charge of The Citizens for close to 6 years now and has won a raft of trophies in his time at The Etihad Stadium and there seems to be no sign of things letting down, trophy-wise. Man City are still on course for 3 trophies this term, with the Champions League, FA Cup and Premier League, but Guardiola is a man that strives for perfection and maybe looking at the summer transfer window already.

The Blues have a couple of areas in the team that need reinforcements, especially in midfield and the striker department. City have coped just well without a top striker, all season, with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne all taking a huge chunk of their goalscoring burden. However, last month’s loss to Tottenham in the Premier League showed just exactly what they could do with a recognized centre-forward. City were punished with a brace from Harry Kane, who was linked to the Etihad last summer and was subject to an alleged failed trio of bids for the England captain. The bookies favour them to clinch the league despite the form of Liverpool. . If you’re down under visit the best online casino in australia for fun.

City have signed Argentine wonderkid, Julian Alvarez, who has been likened to club legend, Sergio Aguero. There have also been multiple reports linking them to Erling Haaland, who would no doubt improve the team. In defensive midfield, City also need to sign a replacement for long-serving Fernandinho, who is expected to leave the club following the expiration of his contract. If Fernandinho leaves, City would have only Ilkay Gundogan and Rodri as central midfield options and Guardiola surely has to look in that direction. Declan Rice of West Ham easily comes to mind.

The 23-year-old England international has continued his ascent to one of the best midfield players in the world but he won’t come cheap. Aurelien Tchouameni is also one of the best midfielders in the world and has been linked to moves to Liverpool, Real Madrid and Chelsea. He is an adept winner of the ball but offers a lot going forward with his distribution and progressive play. If Guardiola can sign a goal poacher, he’d be on course to win the Champions league and give visitors of real money slots an edge at earning.
