BRIAN FERDINAND, BUSINESS AFFICIONADO, EXPLAINS WHY SAN FRANCISCO AND DENVER ARE GREAT FOR BUSINESS

Post by Jordan Toplen

Thinking about starting your own business in the new year? Your choice of location will have a direct impact on the success of your business, according to business guru Brian Ferdinand in a recently released article. A couple of locations that you may want to keep high on your entrepreneurial radar are San Francisco and Denver. Here, he will take a peek at why these two cities stand out in the area of business and entrepreneurship.

SAN FRANCISCO

In the recent article, Brian Ferdinand, the managing partner of SoBeNY, describes San Francisco as a world capital in the areas of technology and business innovation. This title is certainly appropriate given the fact that Silicon Valley is home to some of the most intelligent, creative, and enterprising business minds across the globe. For instance, in the Golden Gate City, you can find many of today’s most respected and distinguished Fortune 500 companies. The businesses in the city have left their footprints in many major modern industries, including clean technology, biotechnology, and technology in general.

San Francisco is known for the unique combination of its high-technology spirit, its creative environment, and its unparalleled geographical beauty. It’s no wonder why the city has attracted young minds and unique individuals from all across the globe. In fact, it is the city’s ability to attract such individuals that has made the city so culturally diverse, open minded, and forward thinking—traits that you would be hard pressed to find in most other cities in the United States.

DENVER

Denver is yet another top city for business, as its economy is extremely diverse from an industry and a cultural perspective. In addition, the pro-business city boasts a spirit of creativity and collaboration, which remains the foundation of its industry growth.

Denver’s chief industry sectors include information technology, energy, bioscience, and financial services. Other sectors that are big for businesses in this Mountain West city are wellness and health care, telecommunications and broadcast, and aerospace.

Also, note that in Denver, the United States Government remains the biggest employer in the metro area. For instance, the offices of such agencies as the General Services Administration and the Department of Agriculture are located there. You’ll also find several military bases in the area, such as the Fort Carson and Buckley Air Force Bases in Colorado Springs and Aurora, respectively. Thus, the city is an excellent option if you’ll be starting a business that caters to current military professionals or veterans.
