Position Summary
Trusera, a free invitation-only network for people who care about health, is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer. Join our team and become part of a groundbreaking online health and wellness resource.
As Senior Software Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for not just building great code but also inspiring others to build even better code. Because you'll be a member of a small engineering team, your time will be spent in a variety of different roles: software guru, architect, security expert, performance tuner, database optimizer, mentor—and general voice of reason. You'll also interact regularly with all the other company teams, helping shape the future design of our product.
Qualifications
- 5 years min. direct experience in web application development / web services
- Understanding of SCRUM / AGILE / SPRINT development environments
- Experience with other open source applications, such as MySQL, Apache, and / or Nagios
- Ability to accurately scope requirements, assess build time, and assure quality of software and components
- Demonstrated team building and collaborative skills
- Understanding of how to test and monitor web services at machine and application levels
- Creation of an innovative personalization, community, or website feature
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- BA or equivalent experience (MS or PhD in Computer Science preferred)
- Experience working in a Ruby application is a strong plus
