What can I do to resolve my anemia?

I'm anemic, and lately it's getting worse. I'm tired all the time, even though I'm doing less than before in terms of exercise, etc. I know I should go see my naturopath, but I have to pay him out of pocket since he's not on my medical plan and it's getting really expensive. Any ideas? I know there's those HUGE iron pills, but I don't know if I can swallow them!
