People with pre-existing illness wouldn't be barred from insurance coverage.

I would shift at least 50% of money wasted  providing medical care during the last week of people's life that is unlikely to provide any increased quality of life. Instead I would  use that money to fund prevention programs or insurance premiums so every baby, expectant mom, and child has access to healthcare. A healthy baby likely will be a healthy tax payer and will also pay insurance premiums and will use less medical resources. Starting in prenatal care is not too early

    I dont advise eleminating hospice which is relatively economical, but eliminate instead long ICU stays and unnecessary tests for actively dying patients.

How many prenatal visits for expectant moms, or how many kids would have gotten asthma meds if for that final  week your grandmother didnt spend it in the icu on a venilator waiting for your family to finish debating "what would grandma do? "What would your Grandmother say? "Screw the kids long live polio! !" or  would it be "save the kids!" ?

Why not ask her now ? Have her fill out an advanced directive and in meantime why not fill one out yourself?

I am sure you can find blank form online somewhere where you just need to fill in blanks about your wishes, easy and quick. I would encourage to do it with close relative or family present. Both sign it. Store two copies in seperate houses or even email copy to your named "surrogate decision maker", and of course give a copy to your primary provider as well

Making healthcare available to everyone regardless of income or status. I would also want to make sure that alternative medical practices are also affordable for everyone. I feel that both western and eastern medical practices need to come together and work together to help everyone.

What a great question! I would remove the connection between the employer and the consumer in healthcare decisionmaking. I don't see why our employers are primary providers of health insurance (either directly or as brokers). I'd prefer to see private companies working directly with government so that my employment decisions aren't tied to my healthcare decisions.
