Asperger's
Asperger’s is an autism spectrum disorder and, like autism, affects people in different ways and to varying degrees. You may be the parent, sibling, or friend of someone with Asperger’s. Or, you may have the condition yourself. You’re not alone. This space is for people whose lives are affected by Asperger’s.

by calla
My name is Elaine Powell, or calla on Trusera. This is my son, Maxfield, who is eight years old and has Asperger’s Syndrome. It took five years to get his diagnosis. I am pretty sure my 14-year-old daughter, Jade, has it too – she’s being tested now.I have no job, and no insurance, a…[more]
Dating with Asperger's Syndrome
by ponderous
Crossposted to PonderEthereal A La AspieAs if the word 'dating' isn't enough to strike fear into the heart of any sane, relationship-seeking individual, add to the mix not being able to read or decipher this person at all and feeling horribly uncomfortable meeting new people. Is Asperger's a Disease or a State of Being?
by Whirlwind
This question goes through my mind often as I watch my son go from functioning well to falling completely apart in minutes, incapable of dealing with the slightest detour from his idea of the way things should be. While I do accept who he is and how he is, I can't help but notice that he is not always comfortable in his skin. If…[more]

by Billy
Elaine, known as calla here on Trusera, has found herself in a tough situation.
Elaine’s son, Maxfield, is eight years old and has been diagnosed with Asperger’s. Elaine is doing all she can for Maxfield and her 14-year-old daughter (whom she suspects may also have Asperger’s) but is currently jobless.
