"I had triple negative breast cancer."
Me and my twin sister, Kim, are breast cancer survivors. After we were diagnosed, we were allowed to open our adoption file and finally found out who our birth mother was. We learned that she and our grandmother both died of breast cancer. We both had the BRCA1 gene, and want others to know about the gene and get tested for it. I found one big fat book on living with cancer and dealing with the treatme…[more]

I had a lumpectomy, 30 sessions of radiation, and 6 chemotherapy sessions of CMF. Except for the nausea related to chemotherapy, I did relatively well during treatment. Prior to my treatmen…[more]

Twins get triple-negative breast cancer, learn that birth mom died from it
Stephanie and Kim, 39, are fraternal twins and breast cancer survivors.
They searched for years to find their birth mother. They had a happy life with their adoptive parents, but always wondered who gave birth to them. When Stephanie was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, they were allowed access to their mom's medical records. They soon learned that both their birth mom and their grandmother had died from the same cancer. The twist? This fact was crossed out on their grandmother's documents, most likely because they wanted to increase the chance the twins would be adopted.
Their story is incredibly powerful. Watch and let us kn...[more]
