Journal U.S. Authorities Still Schizophrenic on Plastics Safety

According to a story in the Associated Press, The U.S. government is still working to make up its mind of whether plastic additives, like Bisephenol A, are dangerous.  This is after the European Union cast judgement on this issue years ago and U.S. retailers, like Wal Mart, have already begun pulling these products from their shelves.

Government toxicologists have reiterated safety concerns about a chemical used in baby bottles and food containers, just weeks after the Food and Drug Administration declared the substance safe.

If I was a U.S. government scientists, I think I'd be a little embarassed that some guy working at Wal-Mart store has more flexibility in interpreting the science than I do.
