Journal Asperger's: What Works for Us

A few things that have seemed to help my daughter are:

OT: especially the type that focusses on Sensory Integration

Social Skills Group: Finding a safe place to practice social skills has been critical

Hippotherapy: this is something that is a huge pain to do, but worth looking into. It really seems to center my daughter

Music: Helps her to relax and reduces anxiety

Yoga: same as above

Reading: Learning to read has been a great thing for her. She can always grab something to read when she feels stressed or needs to re-center herself

Finding the Right School: the most difficult of tasks, but so very important. She went from hating school and herself to liking school and blossoming from the first day that we got her in the right place
