Diabetes Blogger Spotlight: Scott Strumello
I recently wrote about an FDA panel's overwhelming recommendation to change the screening requirements for new diabetes drugs. Right now the current research benchmarks (e.g., surrogate endpoints) for a diabetes drug is its ability to lower blood sugar. However the panel is now saying drug companies need to perform longer studies to make sure new drugs don't hurt the heart along the way.
When it comes to the more technical side of diabetes news, I like to read the opinions of a most respected diabetes blogger, Scott Strumello. At Scott's Web Log, you'll find commonsense analysis of diabetes news and research straight from a guy who has type 1 diabetes himself.
Scott offers educational insights on why the FDA's current guidelines on diabetes drugs and biopharmaceuticals need to change. When it comes to diabetes bloggers, he should definitely be on your reading list.
Thanks Scott!
