Plantar Fasciitis

It started with a little pain in my left heel with the first few steps out of bed in the morning and grew to a more steady ache. My doctor sent me to a specialist and I was immediately diagnosed with plantar fasciitis.To heal it, I did the following:

  • Stopped running for about eight weeks
  • Started wearing Danskin clogs as often as possible
  • Purchased a generic insert for the sole of shoe from the local running store  
  • Lots of stretching
I've been cured for about a year, but for some mysterious reason, it has just resurfaced! I am about to depart on a trip to Argentina and will be on my feet quite a bit. So, we will just have to see how it goes...

    Is this a pain in the heel itself or more around the heel (sort of feeling like it's in the skin a bit)? I've had some recent weirdness with my heal, where walking longer distances (and sometimes just the fact it is night time) has triggered pain in my heel. Wondering if it correlates...
