The Daily Plate

Just thought I'd share a cool website with everyone that I've found incredibly useful over the months.

The Daily Plate is a good site to use if you want to keep track of your weight, daily calorie intake, other nutrition, and exercise.

After you set up your profile it will calculate your specific daily calorie goal. Then there is an extensive database where you can search for foods to add to your plate.

It really helps to see a breakdown of all the foods you eat in a day, calories, fat, protein, sodium, sugar, fiber, etc. Once you can see all this info laid out in one place, it's a lot easier to pinpoint the foods in your diet that you should be consuming more/less of.

There are groups you can join that fit various interests, which serve as a good support system for a lot of people. The site will also show your progress over the days/weeks/months in graph form. There are a lot of other features on TDP as well.

Although the vast majority of site users are those wanting to lose weight, it's also incredibly useful for those of us wanting to gain/maintain weight.

TDP is free, but if you want the extra features you can pay a fee and sign up for the Gold membership.

Check it out!
