My journey through infertility

Infertility is a growing issue that is affecting many women, and if I can help someone by sharing my experiences, I’d be delighted. I have learned so much through others that have shared their own experiences with me, that I feel I should “pay it forward.” I hope you keep reading and I promise not to be too depressing!

I first learned about infertility when my sister was struggling to get pregnant. It took her 3 years and was successful with a medicated cycle and IUI with a fertility specialist.

When my husband and I started trying, I was thinking that I am young and healthy so I'll probably get pregnant pretty easily. Two years later...still trying. Here is my journet thus far.

Start trying naturally May 06 for about 9 months. Then decide to talk to my OBGYN about what he thinks is wrong...do all the preliminary blood tests, HSG dye test, etc, and it all looks good. My sister had just been diagnosed with endometriosis (she had no symptoms, found out through exploratory surgery). Find out I had symptoms...VERY severe premenstral cramps. Schedule laparoscopy for May 07 to treat endo. try for 3 months ontown, Then do 3 rounds of Clomid IUI with OB.

After those effort failed, switched over to a Fertility specialist and did a medicated cycle with Gonal-F shots and IUI...the first one worked...sort of. I was pregnant with a blighted ovum (gestational sac, no baby) and had to get a D&C to remove it because I did not miscarry naturally.

Decided to throw acupuncture into the mix for the 2nd go round...another medicated cycle which failed and left me with cysts and was put on birth control to suppress cysts.

Which leads me to where I am now...our 3rd medicated cycle of shots ans IUI.

Still hopeful! Please, please work.
