5 Year Old Autistic Child Abused In School
Five Year old Alex Barton was bullied in a Saint Lucie County Florida Elementry School by his teacher - who also encouraged his peers to do it as well. Alex is currently undergoing evaluation for Aspergers Syndrome, a form of Autism.
After some behaviors which can be easily attributed to Aspergers Syndrome the teacher allowed every student in the class to say one thing they did not like about him - and then had the students ‘vote’ Alex out of the class in a reality television like episode. Unfortunatley we live in a world that is full of ignorant and lazy people who do not take the time to see the child and their disabilites. With the right support from his mom and the proffessinals he should be ok best of luck maxine

I know! I can't imagine how angry and hurt the boy's mother must feel. And, that boy, how traumatizing. It is absolutely the worst thing that could have happened to him. That teacher deserves to be fired. That is just one of the many reasons I don't trust the schools with my children. Such a horrible situation though, because even if the teacher is fired, the damage is done!
