I have read the book Life with an Angel and a Fight with the Devil and I wholly recommend it to anyone whether they know anything about Autism or not.  It is a story from the heart of a woman caring for her precious child.  The Devil comes into play when she was diagnosed with breast cancer at a young age and her only thought was to live to care for her son.  Other parts of the story has laughs and adventure spanning some 35 years and most of all a mothers love.  It is a book anyone can read and appreciate.

I finished the book last evening.  What challenges that family faced!  I loved how the author and her husband are in a devoted marriage and how very devoted they've always been and always will be to their now 28-year-old autistic son.  They stuck together when it seemed like the 'world' was against them.  The author has unshakable faith in God and that's very admirable.  It's heart-breaking to read at times and I found myself being a bit judgmental about how they could have improved their finances during all these years, but they've obviously done fine without me.  :-)

When one is a devout follower of Christ they will certainly be attacked by satan.  This heart and soul written book is about the increasing attacks by satan and proof therof that when one chooses to follow Christ in their lifelong endeavors to raise a Christian son...it will not be easy.... To know that these hard times will come is to know one is trully following Christ. 

Parts of the book remind me of a firefighter in training that is continually pouring water on an oil or gas fire and that fire just spreads and gets hotter and larger.  And how following Christ trains us to avoid the senario.  But the temperature of the fights with satan will rise.... This book also shows how Christ will lead one to avoid pouring water on a gasoline or oil fire and that following Him will extinguish all of satan's fruitless efforts in the longrun.    It truly shows how one can expect and know their efforts are more like and following Christ when the troubles from satan multiply but nevertheless to perservere to a joyous victory. 

This well written account  by the author is  of the  roadmap that Christ gives us in following Him. 

And, all of the negative responses to this book, a wonderful account of the trials of a true practicing  Christian, is simply part of the results that Christ tells us will be forthcoming.

This book is a must read!
