New study will focus on the autistic brain

The Allen Institute for Brain Science and Autism Speaks are joining forces to study how the autistic brain works -- and hopefully find out the biological causes of autism.

"An extensive study of this type has never been attempted in autism," says Dr. Sophia Colamarino, v.p. of research at Autism Speaks.

They hope to discover if there is an excessive amount of any particular brain cell, using tissue from people with autism.

Find out all the details of the study in the press release.
