I do think that companies should give people with aspergers and autism a go.They will not know if we are good or an assists unless they try.

Actually, AS adolescents and adults fit wonderfully into technical roles like software engineering and software QA.  There was even a recent Harvard Business School study which further emphasizes the point - where a full-on AS person is deficient and very strong are nearly exactly the quality mix required to excel in some of the most technically-challenging roles we have.

Yes it would be an advantage if companies did look into the fact that certain people have additional needs that can be used in a very positive way and not just shrugged off ignorantly.!!!!!!!!!!!!! enjoy

They should absolutely be doing this. This is what companies need to know. My son has AS and he is so smart. I am so proud of him. I know he will be a great asset to a company when he is older as he speaks two languages and is adept with the computer. He is also very loyal which I think a lot of companies look for but do not find very often. I have recommended a few jobs he might want to look into when he is older and I certainly hope that companies are better educated as to the strengths of people with AS and Autism. (My youngest has Autism) It would be a shame if my children needed to hide from something that gives them such unique ability in the business world. The whole world needs to learn more from people with Asperger Syndrome and Autism. They could teach us to see things that we do not understand. I hope the future will embrace them.
