Just read about this on glamour.com:
"I survived breast cancer and never told my mother I had been diagnosed," admits one Vitamin G reader. "I went through chemo with resulting hair loss, radiation (with serious burns), mastectomy surgery and all the fun stuff that goes with it and my mother never knew." Her cover up included a great wig and long-winded excuses about how she was going out of town on business trips when she really was heading to the hospital for extensive treatment.
Personally, I'm fascinated. I don't know how I'd keep something like that a secret from my mom. Plus, I'd need her support! What do you think?
