Palm oil may block growth of breast cancer cells

Researchers are testing a chemical in palm oil that might block the growth of, or even destroy, breast cancer cells, according to an article in The Australian.

Research is being conducted in collaboration with scientists at the University of Louisiana using natural phytonutrients, called tocotrienols, found in palm oil.

The research aims to determine if it can block the growth of, or even destroy, the cancer cells.

Studies have shown tocotrienols have the ability to inhibit cancer growth or even destroy the harmful cells while having fewer side effects.

Has anyone heard of other beneficial uses of palm oil?
