Answering your question:  "for our (jaw) surgery was a bone graft done? Where was it taken from?"

Answer:  For my MMA (jaw) surgery, I had a bone graft done from my right hip.   Some doctors choose to use cadaver bone, but my doctor only does it with grafts.   The graft itself can be more painful than the jaw - I had to use a cane for a week or so before I got back to walking stairs normally.
