Journal Pay off of regular exerciseA Journal is a daily blog where people can reflect on health and well-being.

Six months into my exercise "intentions into reality" I am loving it. I'm doing a dance-like class 2-3 times a week and sometimes even a yoga class (like today). I have not lost weight, but am much fitter, blood pressure is down and I feel stronger. I'm at the phase of life where insomnia is raising its head and I keep hoping the exercise - particularly the yoga - would help, but that is still a challenge.

Journal Community Fitness to the RescueA Journal is a daily blog where people can reflect on health and well-being.

Last November a small fitness place opened up 1/3 of a mile from my house, http://www.communityfitness.comThey offer yoga, and various exercise classes. I said "ahh, just what I need." Walking distance, affordable and someone telling me to MOVE. I have been going regularly and really feel improvements. My back hurts less, more balance and flexibility and less fat (though no weight loss. Muscle gain!)

Journal 30 Minutes a DayA Journal is a daily blog where people can reflect on health and well-being.

I'm trying hard to put in at least 30 minutes a day "moving my body." I've been doing silly TV exercise shows (Podfitness!), walking and Yoga. I'm finding it very difficult to do it 7x a week, but I'm getting 5x in, which is a plus. I have reduced significantly the sugar and white carbs in my diet, but still eat portions that I know are too big. I have not lost weight, but getting some tone back!
