I think that Barack Obama will be incredibly sensitive to young women with cancer because his Mother died of it at a young age.  Although she did not have breast cancer, she died of Ovarian and Uterine Cancer at 52. I also feel that because Obama has 2 daughters he will pay attention to the #2 killer of women in the US.…[more]

Story How to get in to see the doctors you needA Story is one person's health experience, often with recommendations.

It's a sad truth, but even me, working in the health care field for all the years that I have, couldn't get in for a mammogram when I needed one.It was my friend Michelle, who had baked cookies for all the staff at the cancer center when she was going through breast cancer treatments, that helped me. Story Just One Way I’d Change the WorldA Story is one person's health experience, often with recommendations.

After a doctor confirmed my lumps, it still took me TWO WEEKS to get in for a mammogram. That's unacceptable. I feel strongly that spaces need to be reserved at cancer clinics for women like me.I am sure that women going in for routine mammograms would happily give up their spot for a woman like me. What do you think? In the sisterhood, we all know someone who has breast cancer.
