Question What steps do you take to stop a cold from developing when the symptoms just begin?Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

I've found that garlic tablets (with parsely, and not taken before a work meeting), help a lot, as does the form of zinc that you suck, which binds with the virus and keeps it from replicating. The problem with both is that they can cause stomach upsets. I'm looking for other options, as well.

Question Why do mosquitoes and gnats bypass some people, being only a nuisance, while for some of us it's a huge issue?Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

I can walk outside to empty the garbage and have six bites thorough my clothes. I have allergic reactions to most bites, and have to use cortisone cream immediately, to stop that. I can be with someone else who just brushes them away and rarely gets bitten. I've tried B vitamins, garlic and other things that are supposed to keep them from loving my blood, but nothing works.

Question Why do some of us bruise so easily, while other rarely do?Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

I'm very pale in color and have thin English skin. I can find bruises and have no idea where I got them. It's not severe, as in a disease, and I've gotten better with a nutritional program I'm on, but I'm wondering if anyone has any insight.

Question How often do toe nail fungus come back after a prescription medication?Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

I had an infected toe nail and went through two rounds of expensive meds, plus blood tests. The copay was horrendous. Each time, I thought I had it licked. Then it came back. I went to a health food store and got a natural product derived from vitamin C, and with the help of hydrogen peroxide, got rid of it. How common is it that these drugs don't work?

Question Do blood pressure medications given to prevent migraines often worsen asthma?Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

My son was given a blood pressure medication to prevent migraines. It helped, but it made his asthma much worse. How common is this?

Question Have you found that doctors are giving fewer manual breast exams and not recommending self exam as often?Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

I've read that self-exams for breasts isn't pushed like it was. I had a physical where the doctor didn't even do a manual exam, since I was having a mammogram. I'm not sure that's a good sign.

Question How often are the side effects from Neurontin (used for nerve pain) a problem? My dad experienced horrible extremity pain from the drug.Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

My dad couldn't communicate his pain and it took a doctor weeks to figure out it was a side effect of a drug. The pain was so intense he wanted to die. When he went off Neurontin, the pain gradually went away. I'm wondering how common this is.

Question How long does the depression last after open heart surgery?Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

A friend had open heart surgery (valve problem). It's been more than six months, but I still see signs of depression. I know depression after such surgery is expected, but I'm wondering how long it generally lasts.

Question Do any migraine suffers get rebounds from Migranal?Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

I know Imitrex can cause rebounds. How about Migranal? I suspect that, as well, even though it's entirely different than the Imitrex type products.

Question Have any of you found that white flour products affect your digestive system?Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

My sister swears by a white-flour-free diet. While it's obvious whole grains are healthy, I don't seem to feel any different when I eat white flour products. She says she feels "gluey", and her practitioner says it causes some of her arthritis pain.
