Question Have you modified your holiday celebrations to accommodate your autistic/Aspie children?Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

Holidays create unusual stress for our children who require routine and predictability in their lives. Have you changed the way your family celebrates the fall and winter holidays to make them more Aspie-friendly? If so, how?

Question How do you explain religion to your children with Asperger's?Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

Religious beliefs require faith to make them real to the individual. Aspie's tend to think in term of evidence and concrete truths. How does one explain the concept of religion so that an Aspie can understand it?

Question Does your community offer adequate support for parents of children with Asperger's?Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

Being the parent of an Aspie is challenging. It wears you out mentally and physically. Being supportive for our special kids can be difficult when you are feeling frustrated and tired of all the battles. Is there enough support for parents who need time to relax and step away from their complicated caregiver roles?

Question Why do my Aspie kids talk to themselves. They carry on both sides of a conversation, very quietly, and don't seem to notice others are around.Questions are a quick way to get answers and input from the community.

There is a stereotype of autism as a person who is stuck in their own world. It could be perpetuated by a behavior both of my children have, which involves talking to themselves, carrying on conversations with themselves, or taking on the roles of several people in a conversation. Often, they whisper during this activitiy, especially when they do this at night as they lie awake in bed.
