Why I hate tumors

Thanks for your awesome comments on my story. I too am in the process of going back and writing what happened 3 years ago, but also while writing about my current diagnosis now.
I am so sorry to hear about your friend because I am a true believer that CANCER IS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE, but I know the key to survival is timing - and it's scary to think something can be growing in our bodies and us not know. I just let my guard down last July then find out in Feb. my plastic surgeon found a tumor embedded in my muscle wall. It's scary to me and I wonder if it will ever go away. I hope so - for both of us and manhy others. Good luck with your remission!

My Boo-Boo

I really recommend this piece for parents who are struggling with how to discuss their cancer with children.

Why I hate tumors

My good friend, also with two young children, is currently in a major battle with breast cancer, which has metastasized into her spine. Like you, she is an advocate to get her story out to others, in the hope that it might help even one person. As is clear from your journal and stories, you have helped many more. Thank you for keeping the memory of your friend Amy alive, and for giving inspiration to those of us with friends fighting this disease. Be well!

Thanks for sharing this story. Among many things I've learned from you is do breast exams regularly.
