LETTING GO...
Deirdre, our 13 (almost 14) year old came off of the bus the other day....I immediately noticed she was upset. I asked her what was the matter. OH BOY...here come the tears.
Deirdre told me of a young boy (I will not say the word man with this hooligan) who yelled at her to get out of her seat, so he could sit there.
I calmly looked at our caseworker from MHMR, who was her doing her monthly update on our family (this girl needs a raise, BTW, just from working with our family)..and I said, "excuse me for one minute please".
I asked Deirdre who the kid was and she told me. Well, lo and behold, it was the same angry young boy who threw glass bottles on my sidewalk last year...sending chards of glass into my yard. Mind you, I know this young boy is angry...he lost his mother to breast cancer several years ago...he lives with his Grandparent's who are too tired and angry to deal with him....BUT, that is not my problem when he verbally attacks my daughter.
I call the school and ask them to take care of this problem, or I WILL. Trust me, they DO NOT want me to take care of this problem. The principal asked this young man to please not have ANY interactions with my daughter, or ANY of my children.....Good idea, dontcha think?
Last week, Deirdre comes into the house, off of the bus. I asked her if this kid was bothering her any more..she said, "Mom, LET IT GO...I have"....
Oh, my! She doesn't know me at all !!!!!
